Summary: Pull Request resolved: https://github.com/facebook/react-native/pull/46755 There is no need to apply `java-gradle-plugin` to the root build of RNGP as that does not contain any Gradle Plugins (they're in subfolders). This is actually causing the build to be a bit slower as extra tasks for compilation/bundling will be created which are definitely not needed.
